Welcome to InKing Royalty’s July Blog Hop! We’ve made projects that celebrate the fun of summer and are excited to share them with you today. We are a diverse group, so I know you’ll see a great variety of summer projects. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
This is my first ever blog hop and first time watercoloring! Might as well totally step out of my comfort zone, right? When I think of summer all I can think of is the beach, probably because I’m a diehard Floridian.

Here’s what I did:
- Cut watercolor paper to 5.25″ X 4″
- I started watercoloring with Sahara Sand at the bottom first. I simply freehanded the design and just made back and forth brushstrokes. I continued with Tahitian Tide in the middle and followed the same design. After that, I started using Starry Sky at the top.
- After the watercolor dried, I applied the snowfall accent puff paint and heat embossed. This created the shoreline and whitecap waves.
- I cut the camper and flag banner out of the Tree Lot Dies on Whisper White cardstock. I colored the banner with Starry Sky and Sweet Sorbet markers. I cut the top and bottom out of Starry Sky and the door out of Sweet Sorbet. For the door, I had to die-cut the full camper and then cut the door out myself. I colored the tire with Basic Black and Sweet Sorbet.
- I wrapped the bottom with linen thread and made a small bow
- The sentiment is from the Friends are Like Seashells stamp set and I used the small die-cut from the Potted Succulents dies. The sentiment is stamped it Parakeet Party.
- I used Starry Sky as the card base to tie it all together. The card base is 5.5” x 4.25”
